What is a Fire Risk Assessment?
A Fire Risk Assessment is a review that will identify any fire hazards and risks within your premises. The identified risks should be rated based on their severity, which will determine the relevant course of action to either eliminate, temporarily control or manage on a longer term basis. Why is a Fire Risk Assessment needed?
There are several reasons why a Fire Risk Assessment may be required, but they are also required by Law too. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 clearly defines the need for a suitable and sufficient Fire Risk Assessment to be carried out in virtually all non-domestic premises by the Responsible Person. Responsible Persons may choose to do their own Fire Risk Assessments or instruct a competent, third-party accredited consultant to carry out the Fire Risk Assessment for them.
