Accreditation

BAFE SP205 certificated organisation, offering certificates of conformity with every assessment.

Our third-party certification for fire risk assessments means our clients can have further peace of mind knowing we have been independently verified to meet the requirements of the BAFE SP205 scheme. Every fire risk assessment is provided with a property-specific certificate of conformity to demonstrate the appropriate steps have been taken to provide a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment as required under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

We also hold both ConstructionLine Gold and SafeContractor registrations, demonstrating we offer the highest levels of policy and procedure as a company, with health, safety and the welfare of our staff a priority.

Experience

All of our consultants have significant experience within fire safety, with some ex-fire service and some from a building surveying background.

Our assessors all exceed our high standards for competency with professional memberships, CPD and accreditation of their own. All consultants are required to be members of a nationally recognised risk assessors register.

Technology

Risk Management Software – We use custom-built software to perform our assessments and surveys, and give our clients access to an online risk management portal. This is the perfect solution for companies responsible for managing multiple premises in terms of fire safety.

Digital Fire Logbooks – We have partnered with Tio to make managing fire safety even simpler, smarter and easier by upgrading to digital fire logbooks. We commonly find paper fire logbooks are incomplete and prone to being misplaced and damaged – especially during a fire.

A Tio digital fire logbook will be an online version of your traditional paper-based fire logbook that also helps you manage fire safety. It does this by creating a helpful digital checklist of tasks that you need to do on a weekly, monthly and annual basis. Each task comes with step-by-step guidance for your staff on how to complete them correctly and thoroughly.

Cyber Essentials Plus Certified – We have been assessed to confirm we meet an effective, Government backed minimum standard scheme that protects against the most common cyber attacks.

From small care homes to large multi-million-pound extra care developments – we compile fire strategies and inspect new schemes in addition to fire risk assessing existing care premises.

Property management

Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMOs) are one of our specialist areas, we carry out fire risk assessments for landlords and managing agents across the country.

Our staff are knowledgeable of the requirements for supported living properties where children or adults may be vulnerable and have complex needs.

Who we work with

IKE have a large portfolio of supported living properties across the UK. Pyro has worked alongside IKE since 2016, carrying out fire risk assessments and surveys for all of their buildings. IKE have also attended fire door awareness training with us, and use us for ad-hoc technical support.

The largest racecourse group in the UK, with over 20 sites including horseracing and greyhound tracks. Following completion of the fire risk assessments for Doncaster Racecourse, we were asked to provide fire safety consultancy for the whole of Arena Racing Company’s portfolio, including annual fire risk assessments.

Lovell Later Living provide supported living and care premises throughout the UK, with new developments ongoing. Pyro Fire are proud to offer fire safety support including fire strategy advice and passive fire inspections to support the build process.

SMS installs, manages, and intelligently operates carbon reduction (CaRe) assets – including smart meters, battery storage, solar PV and EV charge points – that together enable a smarter, greener, and more affordable energy system. Having worked with Pyro since 2015, SMS has expanded its operations with new warehouse and office premises across the country, all requiring fire risk assessment on an annual basis.

Housing 21 is a leading provider of Retirement and Extra Care properties managing around 20,000 Retirement and Extra Care Living properties in 240 local authority areas. Pyro has worked with Housing 21 since 2014, developing fire strategies for their new-build developments, and carrying out site inspections and risk assessments prior to completion.

Company Shop Group is the UK’s leading redistributor of surplus food and household products. As a growing organisation, Company Shop were looking to partner with a fire safety consultancy they know can meet their needs – as such, they now use Pyro for ongoing fire risk assessments and surveys for their retail and warehouse portfolio.

We have carried out a number of fire risk assessments and fire door inspections for some of Warburtons’ largest bakeries in the North of England. With large staff numbers, within the largest bakery brand in the UK, it is fair to say Warburtons deserve only the best fire safety support.

Steel City Schools Partnership is a Multi-Academy Trust, comprising a number of primary schools in South Yorkshire. Pyro started working with Steel City Schools Partnership in 2017, performing annual fire risk assessments. We have also designed and produced fire evacuation plans for all schools which are constantly kept up to date. We have a close relationship with the Trust and look to continue this in order to support their growth.

Thames Reach are a registered charity providing homes for those who need them the most, such as the homeless and vulnerable. Following a rigorous tender process, Pyro successfully won the contract to carry out annual fire risk assessments across their portfolio of properties including their hostels, offices and houses of multiple occupancy.

We recognise the importance of maintaining high levels of accreditation as a company, and as individuals. Our certifications include The Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM), The Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE), and The Fire Industry Association (FIA). We’re third-party accredited by BAFE for Fire Risk Assessments, and our assessors are registered on the IFSM Fire Risk Assessors Register.
